QUESTIONS ABOUT ‘POSING’?
The most common thing I hear from couples is that they feel awkward about the idea of posing. I completely get this. Let me explain why you don’t need to worry and how I will help you on the day.
How I Approach Posing Couples for Wedding Photos
Weddings can be fast-paced, and it’s easy to feel a little overwhelmed with so much happening. Most couples aren’t used to being in front of the camera all day, but that’s where I come in. My approach is all about giving you clear, calm direction so you feel confident and at ease, and you can enjoy the day. Your wedding day is not a photo shoot.
Here’s how I work with couples to get great photos while keeping things relaxed and enjoyable.
1. Clear, Calm Direction
My goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. I provide clear, simple direction so you always know what to do next, without feeling awkward. I’ll guide you into poses that feel natural and simple.
For example, I might say, “Face each other and relax your shoulders,” or “Take a step closer and look at eachother.” It’s about keeping the flow smooth and efficient so you can focus on being yourselves. And of course so you look your best.
2. Simple, Intentional Posing
Posing doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective. I focus on small details that make a big difference—how you stand, how you interact, and where you look. I’ll keep things simple and give clear direction, but the goal is always to keep it relaxed and natural.
You don’t need to worry about perfecting every little thing; I’ll guide you through it and make sure the photos reflect who you really are and make you look amazing.
3. Letting the Day Unfold, with Purpose
While I believe in letting moments unfold naturally, I’m also there to make sure we’re capturing everything you want. I’ll guide you when needed, but I won’t rush through moments. I focus on efficiency, getting the shots we need quickly without interrupting the flow of the day.
Whether it’s adjusting your position for better lighting or making a small changes to posing, I keep things moving smoothly so you can stay present in the moment.
4. Efficient Posing with a Relaxed Pace
The goal is to keep things moving, but with a relaxed vibe. We won’t be stuck in any one pose for too long. I focus on getting a variety of shots in a short amount of time, so you can get back to enjoying your guests and the party.
5. Stay Present and Enjoy the Moment
The best photos happen when you’re both relaxed and focused on each other, not the camera. I’ll make sure everything flows smoothly and you have the direction you need, but the key is for you to enjoy the moment. The more you’re engaged with each other, the better the photos will be.
You don’t have to worry about the camera—I’ll be there to make sure everything’s on track while you focus on eachother.
